What is Waste-Ed Periods?
The Waste Free Period Programme gives people the knowledge and confidence to explore reusable period products and make choices that work for their body, budget and lifestyle. By learning about the options available, participants can reduce waste, save money over time and make an informed decision to manage their period.

In-Person Education
The Waste Free Period Programme is delivered in partnership with local councils across Aotearoa. It introduces students who menstruate, or will menstruate, to the wide range of reusable period products available. The programme helps students better understand their cycle, feel confident exploring reusable options and have open, informed conversations about menstruation. It also highlights the waste created by disposable products and shows how reusables can offer a practical, affordable and low waste alternative.

Online Modules
As part of our Waste Free Period Programme, we supply a series of online resources to further their knowledge on the topic of reusables. We have a video series which were filmed in partnership with KidsCan, these are terrific resources for younger menstruators. We also have other videos that are designed to approach the topic in a casual and approachable way, better reflecting the style of delivery of our in-person education.
