Retirement villages are communities in their own right, and waste education works best when it reflects the way people actually live.
Waste-Ed works with retirement villages to deliver practical, engaging education on waste, recycling, food waste, consumption, reusable products and more. We can bring one of our existing programmes into your village, or tailor the content to suit your residents, staff and the issues that matter most in your community. That might mean our World of Waste programme, a Food Lovers session, recycling education, reusable product education, or something completely bespoke. Sessions can be delivered as one-off events or as part of a wider programme, and are designed to be relaxed, interactive and easy to engage with. The focus is always on useful information, realistic changes and giving people the confidence to make choices that work for them. We can also work with village teams to support wider waste goals, staff education, resident engagement and practical behaviour change across the community.
Funded sessions may be available. We work with a number of councils and funding partners to deliver retirement village education in selected areas. That means your village may be eligible for a fully or partially funded session. Get in touch and tell us where your village is based — we’ll let you know what options are available and how we can work with your community.
